Hello, I’m Leah (she/her) and I am so honored that your journey has led you to Sacred Soma!
I created Sacred Soma to be a welcoming space for people of all bodies to enjoy the benefits of safe and professional bodywork. As a trauma-informed massage therapist and a biracial woman living in a fat body; I understand the profound impact that personal experiences and societal influences can have on the body’s memory and well-being.
My approach prioritizes your comfort, consent and empowerment, ensuring that your unique history is respected during our sessions. It is important that you remain an active participant in determining what is best for you and your body whenever working with a bodyworker. Throughout the entirety of our time together you will have full agency to adjust any aspect of our session. This may include but is not limited to pressure, depth of work, music, lighting, specific areas you would like to avoid, and restroom or water breaks.
My style focuses on creating a seamless and encompassing flow that not only promotes relaxation but also works towards your individual therapeutic goals. Whether you seek relief from chronic pain, stress reduction, or a sense of rejuvenation, I’m dedicated to delivering a massage that supports your journey towards peace and physical and emotional wellness. With a diverse range of massage techniques including Swedish, myofascial release, structure specific (deep tissue) and cupping, we can work together to carefully design personalized care for your individual goals.
When I’m not practicing massage or expanding my knowledge in the field I find joy in learning how to sew, playing pinball, and diving into the pages of my ever-expanding personal library. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and help you along your journey. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or if you would like more information about me or my practice.
